Recognizing Forgeries in Land Documents.
Sometimes the easiest way to determine whether a signature is genuine is to question the parties involved. Document examination is a very expensive process. Before you incur the expense of a document examiner, often times the quickest and easiest way to determine whether a signature is genuine is to question the parties involved in the transaction.

Based upon five years of investigation and review of thousands of signatures on documents related to land, it is not only important to examine the actual handwriting but to question the individuals who were purportedly notarizing the documents. Many times the notary public will share that they did not find follow proper notary procedures and, as such, the document is not properly notarized.

In addition, the notary may also tell you that his or her signature was forged as a notary to the document. We have found this to have occurred many times.

In a recent matter, rather then spending money on a document examiner, one of the individuals chose to plead the 5th Amendment rather than respond to a question as to whether he forged a signature. This was a much more cost effective approach then having to hire expert in California.
