Lawson Bernstein, MD, PC is a board certified forensic neuropsychiatrist with expertise in brain injury, stroke, toxic environmental exposure, drug and alcohol abuse, PTSD and other related areas in neurology and psychiatry. He has extensive expertise in criminal and civil matters, as well as death penalty case experience. He is an Assistant professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and also teaches, lectures and is academically published.

Dr. Bernstein is a board certified academically published forensic neuropsychiatrist with expertise in brain injury, neurotoxicology, chronic pain substance abuse.

He is a State & Federal Government psychiatric consultant and has extensive criminal/civil trial experience.

He is currently the neuropsychiatric clinical consultant to the HealthSouth Harmarville Brain Injury and Chronic Pain Programs, to the ICU at St. Margarets Memorial Hospital and to various clinical services at UPMC Oakland.

He is a forensic consultant to the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender, Federal Defenders Offices of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and other regional forensic agencies/facilities.

From 1991-1994, Dr. Bernstein was Director of the General Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the largest academic psychiatric training programs in the U.S.
