Areas of Expertise:

Profile

Dr. R. Craig Jerner, Ph.D., PE specializes in Accident Investigation and Metallurgical Failure Analysis and offers over 35 years professional experience as a Metallurgist, Metallurgical Engineering Consultant, and Accident Investigator. Dr. Jerner has testified as a Metallurgical Expert Witness in over 225 depositions and more than 65 court appearances, and conducted over 1,000 accident investigations.

He has been a metallurgist, metallurgical researcher, professor of metallurgical engineering, metallurgical engineering expert witness, failure analyst and accident investigator for more than 35 years. His research experience in metallurgy and as a metallurgist at the Denver Research Institute and Oklahoma University helped to form the foundation and investigative philosophy that he applies to failure analysis and accident investigation. Failure analysis and/or accident investigation is fundamental research in one of its purer forms.

His philosophy is to investigate all evidence as thoroughly as possible in order to develop the most probable accident scenario consistent with available physical evidence and developed data/test results. His goal is to identify and conduct complete photographic documentation of all evidence in order to clearly present the facts to the client, legal counsel or jury.

As a result of the experience he has gained working as a metallurgical expert witness for both plaintiff and defendant, and because he employs an all inclusive approach, Dr. Jerner brings unique qualities to each failure analysis and accident investigation and metallurgical expert consulting assignment.
