Brian Holmes, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified neurological surgeon. He has a full-time practice in Maryland and Pennsylvania in brain and complex spine surgery, including discectomy, spinal instrumentation and spinal fusion, skull base surgery and peripheral nerve surgery. He provides expert witness services in the domain of neurosurgery.

Services

Brian Holmes, M.D., F.A.C.S. treats the following conditions, among others: traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, intracerebral hemorrhage, cauda equina syndrome, brain tumors and others.

Dr. Holmes’ practice of neurosurgery encompasses the surgical and non-surgical treatment of adult patients with disorders of the nervous system; disorders of the brain, meninges, skull and skull base, and their blood supply, including the surgical treatment of disorders of the intracranial and extracranial vasculature (e.g., carotid endarterectomy) supplying the brain and spinal cord; disorders of the pituitary gland; disorders of the spinal cord, meninges, and vertebral column, including those that may require treatment by fusion, spinal instrumentation; and disorders of the cranial, peripheral, and spinal nerves throughout their distribution.

Brian Holmes, M.D., F.A.C.S. provides Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), and neurosurgery expert witness testimony for plaintiff and defense attorneys, and insurance providers.

Dr. Holmes is fellowship trained in cranial base and cerebrovascular surgery at George Washington University Medical Center.

He is currently Chief of the Subdivision of Neurological Surgery, Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Maryland, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at the Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine.

Former President and Scientific Program Chairman of the Pennsylvania Neurosurgical Society, he has served as an Executive Council Member since 1998.
