Each year, the US CPSC estimates roughly 200,000 playground injuries occur in the United States. Oftentimes, the playground equipment and/or the protective surfacing are implicated as a proximate cause of the injury. Additional theories should be explored to determine liability including: 1) standards compliance, 2) age-appropriateness, 3) installation, 4) maintenance and 5) supervision.
