Vascular Surgery is related to any surgery that treats, repairs or reconstructs the vascular system (blood vessels and lymphatics). These include, vericose veins, venous disease, non-healing ulcers, clogged arteries and leg pain. Vascular Surgery consists of treatment of all vessels outside the heart. The vascular patient is one of the most difficult patients to care for because the disease process involves multiple systems of the body. It requires the combined efforts of the surgeon, radiologist and internist, and the coordination of the services of these physicians enables comprehensive total peripheral vascular care.
