There have been many studies of automotive accidents and why these issues occur over time. There are many reasons for these incidents, but only about ten of them explain how a person becomes harmed in the event of an accident and why.

Collisions occur with drivers every day on the road, and billions in damages have been reported in property damage, vehicle destruction, loss of life and medical bills for injuries sustained while driving. It is important to understand the factors involved in these accidents and how a person ends up with severe wounds even after healthcare has been applied.

Even though not all persons that lose their lives are in the vehicles being driven, there are pedestrians that are affected by these individuals as well. There are thousands of victims that suffer through harm because a driver is being reckless, has consumed alcohol or drugs or other factors. reason people die in the United States, and these incidents are preventable in most circumstances. While most of these issues may lead to insurance settlements and a resolution, some may seek litigation for compensation. It is best to contact a lawyer for these situations.

Speeding, Reckless Driving and Mobile Phones

Many drivers are capable of speeding and being careful simultaneously. However, there are various vehicle operators that are reckless when they drive at high speeds. These individuals become careless and do not heed caution. Accidents are inevitable in these circumstances. There are reckless drivers that are not careful or safe when on the road, and these persons also are responsible for collisions. Those that talk or use mobile phones tent to text or look away from the road long enough that they run into other vehicles. This increase of danger on highways and interstates has caused the laws to change. Both national and state legislatures have new regulations implemented that forbid the use of cell phones while driving. These actions may cause the use of a cell phone to lead to charges of manslaughter and homicide.

Distracted Drivers, Fatigue and Driving Under the Influence

Distractions while in the vehicle are of the top reasons by a person may cause an accident. These could be through eating, smoking, loud music, reaching for objects, looking at other things or persons and similar issues. These lead to a lack of focus on the road. Fatigued drivers may be distracted or they may slip into a snooze or sleep due to a lack of energy. When the vehicle operator is too tired to travel, he or she is incapable of keeping the others on the road safe. Drunken drivers have caused more accidents and death than most other road and traffic concerns. These individuals often are responsible for extensive damage, injuries and multiple car collisions.

Rubber-Necking and Defects

When a driver is not paying attention to what is in front of him or her, he or she may ram into another vehicle. This tends to happen when there is something eye-catching on the other side of the road. This could be a wreck, police having pulled someone over and many similar concerns. Defective cars or parts tend to cause the accident instead of the driver. This means that the manufacturer or distributor of the part of vehicle is at fault for the damage and injuries. These issues could be just one part or many. Many defects are found in seatbelts, tires, airbags and small moving parts. There are also defects on the roadways that could cause damage that result in a wreck. These frequently are due to construction areas or crumbling roadways.

Weather and Constructions Zones

Poor weather slicks the road like oil in many circumstances which could cause a car to skid into another even when proper breaks were applied. Other similar issues may involve hail, ice, high winds that move vehicles, excessive rain and other conditions. When constructions zones are not cordoned off correctly, drivers may be prone to falling into or running off of the road. These situations may also lead to multiple cars in one area having collided. Improper signs could also be responsible.

Expert Witness

An expert witness should be hired so that the judge or jury understand exactly how these factors play into the accident. Many issues that are related to the incident are not fully understood until a professional details the manner in which an analysis of these elements led to the collision and how the injuries are a direct result of them.
