Benchmark Medical Services, LLC President and CEO, John S Holloway, Sr., MBA, FF/NRP began his EMS career in 1986 with a rural 911 ambulance service in the Mississippi Delta. After graduating from college and moving to Tennessee, he provided medical care with several urban and rural services in West Tennessee before being hired by Memphis Fire Department as a paramedic in 1993.
Mr. Holloway earned his NFPA Fire Fighter I Certificate in 1995 and NFPA Fire Fighter II certification in 1998. He completed the NFPA Fire Instructor Levels I and II in 1998 and 2005, respectively. With a commitment to fire scene control and safety Mr. Holloway completed the Fire Safety Officer Course in 2004.

Mr. Holloway retired from the Memphis Fire Department at the rank of Lieutenant, assigned to the Training Academy where he served as a Fire and EMS Instructor, CAPCE Coordinator, Paramedic Program Director, recruit testing and placement coordinator, and overall responsibility for coordinating medical continuing education and training.
Other duties included but was not limited to: design, development, delivery, supervision, management, and evaluation of initial and on-going EMS, Fire, Safety, and Professional Development provider and instructor programs.
He is licensed the state as an EMT-Paramedic, Instructor/Coordinator, and EMS Program Director remaining actively involved in medical and safety education, training, and evaluation. Mr. Holloway is also licensed by the State of Arkansas as an Emergency Medical Service Provider as a Paramedic and Paramedic Instructor.
Mr. Holloway was Adjunct Faculty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science College of Health Professions Department of Emergency Medical Sciences until 2018 and is Adjunct Faculty at the University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical Institute Department of Emergency Medical Science.
