Dr. McGuire teaches and supervises child and adult psychiatrists-in-training as a Clinical Instructor in the University of Washington School of Medicine Department Psychiatry.
Through her private practice, Dr. McGuire skillfully evaluates and treats anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma/PTSD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, personality disorders, parent-child conflict, and ADHD through the use of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and psychoanalysis. Dr. McGuire has also worked in community mental health for six years.
Using her skills, knowledge, and experience, Dr. McGuire is qualified to assess emotional distress and mental health injuries in the setting of childhood and adult personal injury, physical and emotional abuse, discrimination and harassment. Dr. McGuire has unique expertise in evaluating and treating LGBTQIA+ youth, adults and families and can adeptly assess and opine on emotional distress and mental health injuries in this population.
