Dr. Matthew Schumaecker, MD, FACC, FASNC is a Board-Certified Cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He has over 15 years of experience in clinical practice and teaching. An experienced public speaker, he is known for being able to explain complex medical concepts in a simple and highly articulate manner. He has won several teaching awards for this over his career. He holds five medical board certifications including Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac Computed Tomography and Clinical Informatics. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He has served on committees for both of these professional societies.
