Leon Kappelman, Ph.D. has lectured and conducted seminars and workshops on many management, business, and technology topics in North America, Europe, and Asia. His work has been reported in Forbes, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Business Week, Newsweek, Dallas Morning News, Washington Post, L.A. Times, and scores of other newspapers and magazines. He has appeared nationwide on CNN, CNBC, PBS, and ABC, as well as many other television and radio stations. He has brought approximately $2.6 million in research funding to UNT.
Professor Kappelman has written over 100 articles and written, edited, and contributed to several books. His works have appeared in the Communications of the ACM, MIS Quarterly, MIS Quarterly Executive, Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences, International Journal for Information Systems, IEEE Software, Project Management Journal, InformationWeek, Computerworld, and other venues. He authored Information Systems for Managers (McGraw-Hill, 1993); contributed to and edited the SIM Guide to Enterprise Architecture (CRC Press, 2010) and The Year 2000 Problem: Strategies and Solutions from the Fortune 100 (International Thomson Press, 1997).
Leon Kappelman, Ph.D. is Director Emeritus of the Information Systems Research Center and Professor of Information Systems in the Information Technology & Decision Sciences Department of the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas (UNT), where he is also a Fellow of the Texas Center for Digital Knowledge and a faculty member of the Interdisciplinary Information Science Ph.D. Program. He is also primary investigator of the Society for Information Management's (SIM) annual IT Trends Study and founding chair of SIM's Enterprise Architecture Working Group.
