Pia Spitzer, MSN/MSHCA, PHN, RN, FN-CSp has 23 years of professional nursing experience in various clinical, administrative, leadership, corporate and educational areas. She has done expert witness work as a nurse expert for over 13 years. Her specialty areas are elder abuse or neglect, wrongful deaths, falls, pressure ulcers, and other clinical issues where the nursing profession is involved. She is experienced in acute care, neuro-surgery, rehabilitation, long term care, skilled nursing facilities, home health, medical-surgical, orthopedics, sub-ICU, neuro-DOU, and telemetry.

Ms. Spitzer is currently a clinical educator in an academic accredited nursing school and also assists the administration team in a Rehabilitation facility. Ms. Spitzer has extensive background and experience in healthcare regulations (state and federal). She has experience in writing expert witness reports, affidavit of merits, and depositions. Ms. Spitzer is a Legal Nurse Consultant. She is an Experienced Chief Nurse Executive, Hospital Director, and Corporate Consultant to multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities in the past, Director of Quality and Risk in a Rehabilitation hospital and experienced in all aspects of Administrative and internal clinical operations.

Ms. Spitzer has 21 years of healthcare experience in various settings and has opined on multiple nursing issues as a Consulting Expert and as an Expert Witness. Ms. Spitzer has extensive knowledge of State and Federal Regulations as they apply to Long Term Care, acute care, and rehabilitation.

As a Corporate Consultant, she was heavily involved in all aspects of clinical operations including survey preparations, plans of correction write ups, writing and updating policies and procedures, staffing issues, educating nursing staff on clinical skills, elder abuse allegations investigations and reporting, standards of care, and all other aspects of clinical care.
